Sāmatvārtha Sessions · v0.1 · May 2026

The Missing Curriculum. सामत्वार्थ — contemporary sensemaking, with an Indic synthesis

The Western critical canon has been writing the same diagnosis in fragments for 150 years. One Indic frame held the same diagnosis as a single unified architecture much earlier. This session puts them in the same room.

§ I — What this is

The diagnosis you were not taught.

Indian universities, schools, and policy classrooms are still teaching a 19th-century operating system — neoclassical economics, mechanistic management, separated disciplines — at the exact moment that operating system is visibly failing on planetary scale. The polycrisis (climate, attention, inequality, institutional decay, AI risk) is not a list of separate problems. It is the predicted output of a single mis-shaped substrate. This bootcamp is the bridge between the contemporary Western critical canon naming this in fragments, and the Indic frame that held the same diagnosis as one unified architecture much earlier.

§ II — Formats

One body of substance, four cuts.

Pick the length that fits your slot. Same architecture; different depth. We can also adapt for self-paced web, recorded video, or guided workshop formats — whichever serves the audience best.

15 minutes

Trailer

Assembly slot, opening keynote, or recruitment for the full session. Introductory walk through the diagnosis and the architecture. Youtube Link.

45–60 minutes

Single lecture

Fits one guest-lecture period (or a flexible 45–60 min slot with discussion). Choose Half A (the diagnosis on its own), Half B (the architecture on its own), or a compressed walk through both.

90 minutes

Full bootcamp

Back-to-back, or split 2 × 45 across two sessions. The whole arc — Western diagnosis, the pivot, and the Indic synthesis.

§ III — What you walk away with

Vocabulary, a diagnostic, and an architecture.

§ IV — Who it's for

The four hats, in one room.

The session is designed to land for all four archetypes in the same room. Each gets something different from the same body. Each closes with a one-sentence seat.

Students

Vocabulary for unease you already feel. Permission to think at the paradigm level, not just the policy level. A reading list that opens a 150-year canon.

Faculty

A cross-disciplinary diagnostic that crosses economics, philosophy, ecology, computer science, and design. Pedagogical ammunition for the slot you have been quietly wanting in your curriculum.

Curriculum decision-makers

Coverage of contemporary critical theory + an Indic-darśana bridge, mappable to learning outcomes labelled interdisciplinary, critical thinking, ethics, sustainability, systems thinking.

Builders, founders, policy people, stewards

A frame for why well-intentioned operational work keeps producing unintended consequences — and a Pañca-Ṛṇa-aware substrate to build differently on.

§ V — Read · skim · view

Three doors into the same body of work.

The session is an evolving artefact. The artefacts below grow alongside it. Start with the invite if you're cold, the handout if you're considering hosting, the slide deck if you want to see the visual arc.

Host a session.

Write in if you want to slot the bootcamp into a course, an assembly, a faculty development hour, or a workshop. No fee for accredited educational institutions; travel and a token honorarium, if your institution covers them, are sufficient. We're equally happy to adapt the artefact for a self-paced web version, a recorded video series, or a guided book-club format.
